This is one of the free basic computer user lessons we offered to Escapees during the months of July and August, 2008 at Rainbow's End RV Park in Livingston, TX.

Vista Windows Startup Disk?

1. Make restore disks. Since each OEM's method of doing this varies (and often varies from model to model within an OEM's line), refer to your manual, the OEM Help files, or the OEM's website for how to do this in your particular case.

2. Unfortunately, with restore disks you don't have an actual operating system disk which is necessary if you want to just do repair work and not return the machine to factory condition. NeoSmart Technologies have put together an .iso of the recovery functions for this purpose. They are hosting a copy of the Windows Vista Recovery Disc for your convenience. It is a 120 MB download, and in the standard ISO format. Note that this is *not* a full version of Vista so you couldn't use it to reinstall the OS.
